Dennis - 3 year old male

  • English Setter cross

  • 3 years old

  • Neutered

  • Negative to all Mediterranean diseases

  • Can live with dogs and dog-savvy kids

  • Has not been cat tested

Dennis is a bright, happy young boy currently living in Serbia, he’s almost always spotted zipping around the enclosure with his tongue hanging out in pure joy! He adores being outdoors, so a secure garden where he can explore, play, and relax would make him truly thrive.

Dennis has a long-standing dislocated hip, he’s been fully assessed by a specialist veterinary team in Serbia. They’ve confirmed that his hip has healed in place over time, he moves comfortably, and he isn’t in pain. He’ll just need an adopter who can keep an eye on things and ensure he stays healthy and supported.

Although he can be a little shy at first, Dennis has a gentle nature and a real love for fresh air and adventure. With patience, kindness, and some basic training, he’ll blossom into a wonderful companion. As he’s never lived in a home before, he’ll need someone to guide him through the basics, but the reward of watching him grow in confidence will be huge.

Dennis is ready for a family who can offer him understanding, stability, and plenty of outdoor fun! If you’re looking for a sweet, active boy with a big heart, he might just be the perfect match for you.

After a full bill of health we are over the moon he is ready to be adopted.

Rupert gets along well with both male and female dogs, and his sweet, gentle nature makes him a joy to be around.

Since being rescued, he has really come out of his shell and is now a happy, affectionate boy who loves being around people.

Rupert needs a loving home where he can continue to blossom, feel safe and enjoy the life he deserves. With kindness and love, he will make an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.

Zena - 2 year old female

  • 2 years old

  • Neutered

  • Positive to heartworm but negative to all other Mediterranean diseases

  • Can live with dogs

  • Has not been cat tested

Our little Zena was found tied up inside a filthy, empty stable, surround by feces with no food and dirty water. She has a microchip but it’s unregistered and was mostly tied up and left by a hunter.

Her bloods have come back positive for heartworm, she is now on a course of antibiotics and will be prescribed Advocate spot on for ticks and fleas for 18 months.

Zenas teeth are a stark reminder of the vile conditions she has been living in. For her young age they are in covered in placque.

Zena has only recently been rescued, she is already showing signs of affection and trust in humans.

We can’t wait to see her settle and find out more about her character

Poppy - 1 year old female

  • 1 year old

  • Neutered

  • Negative to all Mediterranean diseases

  • Can live with dogs or alone

  • Has not been cat tested

This gorgeous little girl was found motionless in a field. After being taken to the vets, they found she had a broken rib and a fractured pelvis. After 10 days in the vets she was then moved to kennels, where she is recovering well.

Poppy is blind in one eye but that doesn’t stop her! Poppy is an energetic bundle of positivity and joy, she seeks out human company and bonds very quickly to the humans around her.

Poppy would be okay as an only dog if her humans are around alot of the time. She craves human contact.

Poppy is a bright young girl and is very responsive to training and is quick learner. it would be amazing if she can carry on her learning in a new home

Peter - 6 year old male

  • 6 year old male

  • Neutered

  • Has not been cat tested

  • Can live with any other dogs or alone

  • Tested low positive for Leishmaniasis and is on treatment. Negative to all other diseases.

Peter has come from a local pound in the south of Italy, he is fortunately now in safe hands and being looked after.

Peter is a great natured Setter, with a lovely, balanced temperament. Peter is very friendly with all dogs big or small and loves human contact.

He walks well on a lead and travels well by car. Peter has never lived in a home environment so will need time and patience to allow him to settle in, as everything will be new to him.

Most of all, Peter loves a warm cosy bed, he appreciates the comforts of live and we’d over the moon to see him settled in a home. Peter loves to please and we don’t doubt he would make a truly exceptionally addition to the family.

Aris - 6 year old male

  • 6 year old male

  • Neutered

  • Extremely good with cats

  • Can live with any other dogs or alone

  • Negative to all other diseases.

Aris was found starved, skeletal and very dirty at the age of 4. He has been blessed to live in a foster home for the past 2 years. Although he is adjusted to home life, Aris is a calm boy and is frightened of loud noises like thunder and fireworks. He will need an understanding family who will take care of him.

Aris is amazing at the vets and groomers, he is a calm boy and would thrive in a calm environment. He will need a bit more training with walking on a lead.

Aris is a simple boy and doesn’t require much, he would thrive in quite home with someone who is around a lot of the time.

Stanley - 2 year old male

  • Stanley is approximately 2 years old.

  • He is neutered and free from Mediterranean diseases.

  • Has not been cat tested.

  • Could live with another dog and children.

Stanley was found by lady we've worked with before and is now in the shelter belonging to one of our rescue partners.

He can be shy but does warm up to people quickly and is friendly. It's clear Stanley has not had a great start in life and he has stiffness in his hips which is being investigated.

As with any rescues he will need time to settle in and support with basic house training.

Larry- 7 year old male

  • Male English Setter

  • 7 years old

  • Larry has tested positive for heartworm but is not symptomatic and being treated

  • Has not been cat tested

  • Would love the company of a resident dog

Larry's owner passed away and the family were not sure if they wanted to keep him. There was a little negotiation and the family have agreed to relinquish him.

Larry is a wonderful boy with, playful energy. He is very intelligent, respectful and full of love. Despite his past, he has such a sweet and balanced character. He adapts beautifully, he has lovely manner and truely enjoys human company

It would appear that he has lived all his life alone, outside on a chain but has found love with the company of other dogs. He will need patience and kindness to get used to living in a home.

Tilly - 6 month old female

  • Born November 2025

  • Will be health checked

  • Can live alone or with a resident dog

  • Can possibly live with dog-savvy cats

  • Setter Cross

Tilly is one of the puppies that was born in a car park in Serbia. All mum and pups are now safe and under the care of Settusfree.

Tilly is a very sweet-natured girl, but it is too soon to tell what her personality will be like.

As Tilly is still a puppy, she will grow into a beautiful girl shaped by the people who raise her. She will need basic puppy training and socialising

All puppies will need to be secured with a non-refundable £100 deposit. Tilly should be able to travel to the UK in July, depending on when the rabies vaccination can be administered.

Ziggy - Approx 2 year old male

  • Approximately 2 years old

  • Neutered

  • Negative to all Mediterranean diseases

  • Can live alone or with a resident dog

  • not cat tested

  • Could live with older kids

Ziggy was rescued from the pound in Serbia, possibly abandoned because he was born a little different; he doesn’t run like other dogs - he moves with a distinctive bunny hop, bounding along joyfully, using both back legs together. Ziggy has been checked by a vet who was not concerned by his distinctive gait. He is not in pain, is very active, and the vet recommended no further action was required. Please see the videos showing Ziggy in action.

For Ziggy, what might have been a limitation has not held him back at all. True to his English Setter nature, he’s very playful, funny and affectionate; making it impossible not to fall in love with him.

He is very sociable and loves both people and other dogs. He is also good with children, but he is lively and bouncy so he would be better suited to a home with older children.

Ziggy will have never lived in a home, so he will need house-training and time to settle in. We will be looking for a family that is sympathetic to his differences. He may not be able to go on long walks, so he will need enrichment activities to help keep him entertained.

Ziggy’s not had the best start in life but his story is one of capability and is a reminder that being born different can mean being extraordinary. He doesn’t just run through life, he hops into it, one joyful bound at a time.

Patch is currently in Turkey and is a big ball of energy! He rarely sits still and can usually be found running up and down the enclosure and playing with the other dogs.

Patch has an active prey drive and he loves to be active. Patch is an underdog in the enclosure and is very submissive towards other dogs, but he will play with any dog that he can.

Patch adores people, he is extremely friendly and loves to meet new people, and would fit in well where he can have the attention he loves.

Patch is very enthusiastic about life, he has had a few experiences on the lead and will need ongoing training until he is more familiar with this. Patch is a little afraid of traffic and will need a confident handler to help him with this.

Patch would thrive in an active and outgoing home, he is the perfect playmate and social butterfly. Patch will need basic training as he is a young and active boy, but we know he would thrive with a life of adventures

Ben - Now Reserved!

  • 12 years old

  • Intact and will remain intact

  • Tested positive for heartworm and is on medication. He is now able to travel

  • Will need a calm resident dog to live with

  • Can live with Cats

Ben’s story is not for the faint-hearted. He was found by the side of the road and a suspected hit and run. He suffered a major injury to the head and the rescuers fought to save his life and hand-fed him for weeks whilst he recovered.

Ben has lost the use of one of his eyes, but copes well without it. Ben also has heartworm. This is a parasitic worm that lives in the heart and lungs of an infected dog. Heartworm is not contagious and isn’t passed from dog to dog; a dog is infected from a mosquito bite.

Ben is no longer symptomatic and has been given a long course of antibiotics, the next phase of treatment is flea and tick treatment, every month for 2 years.

Ben is now well enough to travel, and in the meantime, he has been moved to the “oldie” yard and is currently living with multiple other dogs of similar ages. He gets on very well with all dogs and enjoys the company.

Ben is a very gentle boy and would thrive in a calm retirement home with a family who is around a lot and a calm resident dog he can find companionship in.
