What’s new…?

We are looking for volunteers to join our lovely team…

SUF is a fantastic charity to volunteer for; it only works like it does because of our volunteers. We have a very supportive team who work well together and who will help you learn the ropes.

If you are interested in any of the roles outlined below, we would love to hear from you, so please contact us

Regional Coordinators

We are looking to recruit more coordinators to work with the current team members covering Italy, Spain, Greece and the Balkans.

The role of a coordinator is to:

  • Liaise with our European rescue partners to understand the dogs in their rescue centres and ensure all health checks etc have been done to allow travel;

  • Work closely with the Adoptions Manager (Thelda) to review applications and work to find a good match between dog and adopter; and

  • Help facilitate smooth travel and transition from rescue centre to adopter’s home.

This is a really rewarding role.

Dog of the month: Roble

A white and black speckled English Setter dog standing in a field of dry grass next to a weathered wooden platform or steps, with a happy expression and tongue out.

Beautiful Roble has not had one application in the last 6 months and we don’t understand why?

This lovely chap was given up by his hunter to his previous owner when he was just 10 month old. Due to illness his owner can no longer look after him and we were asked to find him a loving home.

Roble is sweet once he gets to know you, he is still very shy and takes a little time to trust people, he still needs to learn that humans are good. In the right home Roble will flourish, could you give him a loving settee?
