Dennis - 2 year old male.

Dennis is a handsome Blue Belton English Setter.

This lovely boy was found wandering the streets and is now safe with our rescuers.

Dennis is a very happy chap; he shares his food and gets on well with other dogs. His tail does not stop waggling when our rescuers visit.

Dennis enjoys being outside, so he would love a nice garden to run, play and explore in.

He is healthy and pending transport availability, he could travel to the UK in September 2025 - he just needs a foster or forever home to go to!

Roble - 3 year old male.

Roble is a very handsome English Setter, DOB 01.12.2021.

Roble was given up by his hunter to a man when he was only 10 months old. Due to illness his owner can no longer look after Roble. Roble has a clean bill of health.

His previous owner helped Roble with his nervousness around people, particularly men. He can still be a shy boy so his new family will need to understand he will need time to adjust and encourage him along the way. He can be easily frightened of sudden noises or movements.

Roble gets on wonderfully with other dogs and is very playful and social.

Roble is currently in Spain.

Zeus - 9 years old male.

Zeus is a stunning old gentleman, DOB 10.03.2016.

Zeus was found abandoned in a park, malnourished but with a waggling tail, he was so happy to see our rescuer! Zeus has just finished a course of antibiotics against Erlichea and Anaplasma, he is a healthy boy and tested negative to all Mediterrenean diseases.

Zeus gets on well with other dogs, he is a very calm and gentle soul and likes peace and quiet. He is very affectionate, he walks on the lead but some more training will be required. Zeus was cat tested with good results.

Zeus is currently in Greece.

Fido - 4 years old male.

Fido is a beautiful Blue Belton English Setter of 3 or 4 years old (his exact date is not known).

Fido was abandoned near the tiny village of Karditsa, most likely from a hunter. Fido is a healthy boy and tested negative to all Mediterranean diseases.

This lovely chap has a very affectionate temperament and gets on well with all the dogs at the shelter. He adores cuddles and loves to swim in the paddling pool! Fido has lots of energy and is suited to an active home with no cats. He loves walks and is learning how to politely walk on a lead and training should continue in his new home. Fido is rather the escape artist so a home with good fencing will be required.

Fido is currently in Greece.

Macchia is a beautiful Blue Belton English Setter. He comes from a well known breeder in the Northern part of Italy.

He is between 28-30kg, similar to a show setter. Macchia was bought by a lover of Setters with his Dad and brothers. Sadly, his current owner passed away, and Macchia and his setter family have now found themselves at the shelter.

Macchia has always been a pet. He is very affectionate and loving; he adores cuddles and walks. Although it isn’t known if he ever lived in a home.

As all rescues, he will need time to adjust to his new life, but we don’t doubt he will be a wonderful addition to your family.

He is between 28-30kg, similar to a show setter. Zorro was bought by a lover of Setters with his Dad and brothers. Sadly, his current owner passed away, and Zorro and his setter family have now found themselves at the shelter.

Zorro has always been a pet. He is very affectionate and loving; he adores cuddles and walks. Although it isn’t known if he ever lived in a home.

Prince - 2/3 year old male

  • 2/3 years old

  • Will be neutered

  • Negative to all Mediterranean diseases. His initial Leish test came back low, but he was treated with Allopurinol and Leishguard and his retest shows exposure but no active clinical signs. No other known health issues.

  • Loves the company of dogs and would benefit from a calm resident dog to live with.

  • Can live with cats with careful introduction

  • A shy and nervous boy who will need a calm family

Prince was found on a mountain near Karditsa, eating literal rubbish to survive. Prince was in terrible condition, thin and malnourished. He has come so far already and is becoming healthier each day.

Prince is a very gentle boy, who is very shy at first meetings. You can see he is desperate to interact but he won’t initiate any connection, we don’t doubt this will come with time with the right family.

Prince will need time and patience to adjust to his new life, but we don’t doubt he will be a wonderful addition to your family.

A calm and confident home would suit this boy perfectly.

Liesel - 6 year old female

  • 6 years old

  • Neutered

  • Waiting for test results from recent blood tests for any diseases

  • So far she likes the company of other dogs

  • Not yet been cat tested

Liesel was found in a village in Ioannina, she had been too scared to approach anyone it took days to try to rescue her. It was only when she was nearly run over that anyone was able to get her to safety.

Liesel is very shy and has it is likely she has never lived in a home before. She will need a special family who allows her the time to adapt to a life with a family and love.

More will be updated on Liesel as she settles

He is between 28-30kg, similar to a show setter. Thor was bought by a lover of Setters with his sons. Sadly, his current owner passed away, and Thor and his setter family have now found themselves at the shelter.

Thor has always been a pet. He is very affectionate and loving; he adores cuddles and walks. Although it isn’t known if he ever lived in a home.

Leon - Now reserved!

This little chap was found wandering around a derelict part of the island with no people in sight. Due to this, he does suffer when he is left alone; he will need a secure family to support him as he grows up and to help him become a confident young man.

Leon would love an active family who is at home with him the majority of the time. He will need all the basic training that any puppy does. Leon has been through so much in such a short amount of time, he will truly make a wonderful addition to the family.

Leon is currently in Greece and will be able to travel when he is 6 months old (December 2025 onwards)

Peter - Now reserved!

Peter is a beautiful Blue Belton English Setter. He comes from a well known breeder based in the Guglielmo Mountains in the Northern part of Italy. His DOB is 06.06.2024.

He gets on well with other dogs, big and small. Peter is a young setter. Very active and inquisitive. He travels well by car and although not very familiar with the lead, on his first outing, he didn’t do too bad. Peter will make a great, loyal companion. We assume he has never lived in a home environment before so some toilet training will be necessary and getting used to new things/noises in the house.

Peter needs a home with a garden where he can safely run around and explore. We are looking for a patient and caring family who is willing to give him time to adjust to a home environment. He is an active, young dog, he loves his walks. Patience and Perseverance will be the way forward.

Pablo - Now reserved!

Pablo is a stunning Tricolour English Setter of approx 5 years old.

This poor boy was abandoned on a mountain in terrible conditions and was incredibly lucky to be found and moved to Athen where he is slowly gaining weight.
This handsome chap is a cuddle monster, loves human contact and has a very balanced character. He gets on well with all dogs and wishes nothing more to find his family.
